Let's Flag That Vol. 1

Red Flags are back on TikTok, and this is the perfect digital ice breaker for back to school, or any day of the week. Students are introduced to "Red Flags" and "Green Flags" as an idiom, and will first brainstorm their own ideas about where they notice these ideas in their world. Next, students are given a series of scenarios where they have to choose whether a situation is a "Red Flag" or "Green Flag" by adding their own gif, and defend their stance. 
 
Scenarios include:
-Eating vegetables
-Running 5ks on Thanksgiving
-Enjoying reboots more than the original
-Prefer Samsung over IPhone
-Being a Swifty 
 -and more engaging topics!
 
There are also 3 questions that require students to reflect not only on their reasoning, but their influences and experiences that contribute to their perspective. Metacognition for the win!
 
This activity is perfect for introverts and extroverts alike, getting students to engage with ideas and peers with topics beyond "What's your favorite color?"
