Need to give your students a fun Halloween themed project that helps them practice characterization, adjectives, and analysis? Look no further!

1. Most students are familiar with Red Flags and Green Flags (toxic traits vs good traits) and there are slides at the beginning that introduce these ideas. Feel free to use or delete.

2. Students will see a character associated with the spooky season, and they have to decide based on the short profile presented if the character demonstrates "Red Flag" or "Green Flag" qualities and drag the flag to the above box.

3. In the box below the flags, students will explain their reasoning using evidence from the profile or the optional "more" section. I list it as optional because some websites may be blocked on student computers.

There are 24 different characters from a variety of spooky movies to choose from! I reccomend assigning students a certain number of characters to analyze, and let them choose their own so they are picking one's that make them excited!

Featured Characters:

Scooby Doo

Eddie Munson

The Sanderson Sisters

Jack Torrence

Beetlejuice

Coraline

Casper

Linus

Aggie Cromwell

+MORE!

4. Students have the option at the end to add their own Spooky Character from a movie/show of their choosing if they have time!

5. This slide set also includes 4 Reflection Questions help students to think about their choices, the importance of characterization, and why it is important to share our perspectives.

HAVE FUN!
