Back to School: Piece by Piece Small Group Activity

Help students get to know each other "Piece by Piece" (gotta love a good pun!)
 
This Back to School (or anytime you give students new seats/teams) activity is a fun and creative way for students to get to know each other and build a sense of team spirit. Have groups of 3, 4, 5, or 6? This download pack has all them all!
 
Students will take turns in their small group answering a series of "get to know you questions" that are anything but lame. Next, students will create a puzzle piece for each person of their team that represents their answers to the questions. The flexibility and ease of this activity is awesome, because students have options of questions, but don't necessarily have to put the answer to every question in the puzzle piece. They get to create it with information that helps connect student interest and ideas. As the pieces are put together, students will be able to visually see what they have in common with their peers and create a team name.
 
For additional fun, cut out the puzzle pieces and display a visual in your classroom. Create a sense of community from day 1:)
