Rhetorical Appeals and Analysis
By far, my FAVORITE thing to teach students! I'm not sure if it is my English-nerdy-ness where I am constantly looking for trends, and intentional methods of persuasion. Honestly, it is most likely the fact that every day I have to consider what my students are going to buy into, and how I am going to get them to be fired up to engage with ELA strategies. It is a constant challenge, and I love it!
These resources use topics and "hot takes" that are student friendly, fun, and help students engage in argumentative craft/conversation, and ignite authentic inquiry without feeling like "busy work."
